The Arts Programme – 145 – Remembrance In Contemporary Times

As it was remembrance Sunday this weekend, we spoke about how music and arts coming from war can prove an integral symbol during war. We listened to some of the brave and conscious artists making music in Ukraine to protest the war on a world stage.

Among our remembrance themed playlist we also listened to rising star Alyona Alyona; we felt soulful Odyn V Kanoe and enjoyed the outrageously unique DakhaBrakha! We also admired the courage of Jamala. In the first half of the show we listened to an interview that Claire conducted with the stars of The Queens Theatre’s pantomime ‘Sleeping Beauty’ and we are lucky to present a competition where you can win some free tickets!

All you have to do is answer this question:

What’s the name of the princess in Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch’s Sleeping Beauty?

  1. Aurora
  2. Raury
  3. Belle

And we will close the competition at midnight on Monday 21 November.  Winner will need to get in contact with us theartsprogramme@phoenixfm.com and we will draw names out of the hat on Tuesday 22 November.

Listen again to The Arts Programme with Natalie and Claire!
