Baby Basics is a volunteer-led project aiming to support new mothers and families who are struggling to meet the financial and practical burden of looking after a new baby.
Baby Basics started in Sheffield in the spring of 2009. There is an ever increasing network of Baby Basics centres across the country each staffed by a committed team of volunteers and now Baby basics has come to Billericay. Jane Robb joined me in the studio today to tell us all about it.

Baby Basics in Billericary has only been fully up and running for a couple of months. After training from the central Baby Basics group the Billericay branch went live in April. A starter kit packed into a moses basket is the aim to provide for those struggling to cope with the needs of a new baby. Referrals and made from midwives, health visitors and other professionals.
