Today on the show I was joined by 3 local school heads of music- Florian Cooper from Brentwood school, Max Harris from St Martins, and Peter Romhany from Becket Keys. They told us all about the amazing musical talent in their schools, and how they have adapted to ensure young people don’t miss out on the usual music related opportunities at school. All three schools have been working tirelessly to put together virtual Christmas concerts and showcases. They explained the challenges they overcame to achieve these shows, as well as the benefits, offering new experiences and skills both to the students, and to them as the record and edit virtual concerts!
Whilst both Becket Keys and St Martins have Christmas concerts coming up, Brentwood school have gone a different way, with a different piece being released every day of December up until the end of Term, as well as a virtual version of the annual carol service that normally takes place in the Cathedral.
