An old friend returns

It was good to welcome back local singer/songwriter, GLENN GODFREY today.

Glenn has visited us twice in the past year – see https://www.phoenixfm.com/2018/10/18/the-voice-is-back/ and https://www.phoenixfm.com/2019/02/25/on-the-up/

And the reason for Glenn’s visit to us today was so that he can tell us more about his latest release which we’ve been playing regularly.

Listen here to what Glenn told me today: –

In the second hour of today’s show we reported on the recent ruling by a French Court that the employer of a man who died of a heart attack whilst engaged in an illicit sexual act with a woman, he’d picked up whilst on a business trip, is liable for his death and must pay his family 80% of his wages up until his retirement age, and then continue to cough up for a share of his pension.

Lawyers for the man’s employer, Railroad and Construction Company, TSO, argued that they could not be held responsible because his death happened outside of working hours, in a room that they had not reserved for him and that his death was the result of an ‘adulterous sex act that he had had with a complete stranger’, and that he wasn’t acting in a professional capacity at the time.

However, the court ruled that it was an ‘accident du travail’, which means that even if a member of staff is on a work trip, anything that happens – whether during working hours or not – while on that trip, is the boss’ responsibility.

During the case it was stated that sex is ‘un acte de la vie courante’, just like ‘having a shower or eating a meal’ and that TSO didn’t provide any proof that Xavier X interrupted his trip to go and have sex.

Well that’s the French for you!

See you again tomorrow,
Scott
