LAKESIDE Hammers have postponed their home Championship meeting with Glasgow on Saturday – to avoid a clash with football fever!
Club bosses had been keen to press ahead with the attractive fixture against the Tigers but fear any extra time and penalties in the Sweden v England World Cup quarter final afternoon game would kill the attendance.
In addition, medical staff are working at big screen events in the afternoon and the club are keen to avoid any delays as a consequence.
Hammers will, however, still be making the journey to Scotland on Friday as planned to race Glasgow at Ashfield Stadium.
A new date for Saturday’s meeting will be confirmed with a fixture update when available.
