We are delighted to tell you that this weekend, The Child in the Park statue which was stolen from Lake Meadows in Billericay has been found

It seems the thieves have had second thoughts and released the statue. The Child is now in “Hospital” awaiting an assessment of the injuries incurred. After the necessary surgery and a period of recuperation it will be able to return home.
Charles Novis, Chairman of the Friends of Lake Meadows, said “We are relieved and delighted that the statue has been found, as we really did not expect to see it again. Whoever took it must have realised how much it meant to everyone who loves it and we look forward to children being able to enjoy it again.”
