With the nights already drawing in, tonight was the last of the Summer Chill series of shows. There was a hint of a Bernie Taupin and Elton John special tonight, with a lot of tracks written by them. Look through the play list and see how many you can find. All was quiet in the first hour, then we had lots of requests via e-mail. We also featured a number of classic T.V. themes, which proved very popular. Included in the odd news stories was one about a three foot wasps nest with five thousand wasps made by the wasps on a bed in a spare room in Winchester. The moral is…don’t leave a small window open in your spare room and then not check the room for three months. The finalists have been announced for the $10 million Star Treck tricorder prize to make a machine that can measure, image and diagnose conditions. A Banksy mural had been sold for £400,000 and the money going to a Boys Club in Bristol and other charitable causes. Archaeologists were very excited that at the dig by Hadrian’s Wall they had found a complete wooden Roman toilet seat, the first found anywhere. Then there was the Russian bank that when you are granted a mortgage will lend a cat to be the first to cross the threshold of the property. All this and music requests as well.
