Tonight was the third of our Summer chill shows. We were very busy in the chatroom tonight with people from Ireland U.S.A. and Ingatestone. There were lots of reactions to the tracks and also the odd news stories. Why are there always more strange things happen in the summer? Maybe it is just everyone is in holiday mood?
Playlist
Miles Davis – Miles
Beach Boys – Kokomo
10cc – Dreadlock holiday
Mungo Jerry – In the summertime – requested by Patrick
Madness – Our house – with a story about 10 Downing Street being for sale…in Nottingham.
Coldplay – Paradise
Christopher Cross – Ride like the wind – when did you last hear this track?
B.A. Roberson – Bang bang – to go with a story about a landlord in Essex digging up a live shell, and hitting it twice!
Killers – Human – for a very wet Susan and Ian in Reading Berkshire.
Anta Ward – Ring my bell – apparently there has been a petition in a village near Bristol for the church bell, given by Frederick Handel, to be rung more after the Rector decided it should be rung less because of one complaint. In the chatroom the feeling was, if you don’t like the sound of bells, don’t live near a church.
Chicago – If you leave me now
Fleetwood Mac – Little lies
Gallagher and Lyle – Breakaway
Dolly Parton – Tennessee homesick blues – requested by Michael
Dolly Parton – Why did you come in here looking like that? – for everyone listening in U.S.A.
Christians – Words – for a story about a board games cafe being set up in London. In the chatroom they felt it was not a good business idea as people would stay in the cafe too long.
Louis Armstrong – All the time in the world – in response to the comments
Amy Winehouse – Rehad – for a story about a rehabilitation centre in India for children addicted to smartphones and social media. Amongst other things, they are teaching them how to play board games.
Sad Cafe – Every day hurts – more response to the comments
Kate Bush – Running up the hill – for a story about a man who had pushed a brussel sprout up Mount Snowdon with his nose – it was to raise money for charity!
New Seekers – I’d like to teach the world to sing – for Phyl in London encouraging us all to sing along. Everyone in the chatroom went off for a well known soft drink.
Pharrell Williams – Happy
Blood Sweat and Tears – Spinning wheel.
Join me next week when we are back to an interview show. My guests are Graham Hamborg, who trains Vicars, and old friend of the show Stuart Hull (actually he is young) who is just back from Burmuda. We will find out what he was doing. Are we jealous?
