To mark the start of NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK, of which this year is the 30th anniversary, I was pleased to be joined today by JILL JENNINGS from ESSEX & HERTS AIR AMBULANCE to tell us what this week means to them and what they are hoping to achieve. As it costs getting on for half a million pounds a month to keep the aircraft flying they are obviously keen to get all the help they can especially in the area of manning stands, managing merchandise and not just at events organised by Essex Air Ambulance, but also at third party events. If you are interested why not go to the website
https://www.essexairambulance.uk.com/how-you-can-help/volunteer.aspx or better still contact Jill direct by calling 0845 2417 690 or via e-mail to jill.jennings@ehaat.uk.com.
Listen again to what Jill told me here: –
In the second hour of today’s show we heard all about the extra wide parking pays for women drivers that have just been introduced into the South Korean capital, Seoul. Not only are they extra wide, but they also have squishy stiletto-friendly pavements next to the spaces which like disabled spaces, are closer to lifts and entrances. Talk about sexist!
See you again tomorrow.
