With so many events happening in our area this weekend (see the Phoenix FM events guide) I devoted most of today’s show to all that’s going on. We heard all about Saturday’s Yogathon on yesterday’s show. The highlight events of today were these.
The MP John Baron and his committee organise an annual fun walk which this year is this Sunday at Barleylands Farm Billericay. As with previous years, the aim of the fun walk is to raise money for charities and good causes/projects, in what will be a fun afternoon for the family. One of the projects to benefit this year will be the Billericay Street Pastors (pictured above) campaign to raise money for a defibrillator for Billericay High Street.
It all starts around 12 noon on Sunday.
On Saturday evening it’s the Brentwood Community Firewalk at The Brentwood Centre.
IF WALKING bare foot on fiery hot coals sounds like your idea of a good time then the Brentwood Community Firewalk is looking for you.
The charity event will see up to 100 people bravely march across the red-hot walkway as champions for their chosen cause.
The event will be hosted at the Brentwood Centre on Saturday and Phoenix FM will be there.
The event takes place at 6pm on Saturday, with the walk starting after registration and the motivational power hour.
If you wish to take part then contact Jane or Chris Froebel on Jane@bennettsfunerals.co.uk or chris@bennettsfunerals.co.uk to request a registration form.
