Thursday 6 February was the first ever Time to Talk Day – 24 hours in which to start conversations about mental health, raise awareness and share the message that mental illness is nothing to be ashamed of, neither is talking about it.
At Phoenix FM we had four groups in organised by Wayne Banks from the Essex Mental Health Community who came in and talked on specialist subjects:

Paul Howard
Paul is a mental health service user. He works for a national medical charity and in his spare time volunteers for Essex Mental Health Community.
Emma O’Leary
Emma is a recent Neuroscience graduate who has volunteered as a Peer Support Volunteer for Mind in Brighton, and for an Essex based charity for those with various learning and physical disabilities.
Sarah Mitchell
Sarah is a mental health service user. She runs her own business and is a passionate campaigner for better mental health services.
Laura-May Written
Laura is a Time to Change champion, and Communications Manager at ECDP, which runs a work experience programme to help people back into employment.
Robin Steer
Robin has lived experience of mental ill health, and is an Ambassador for ECDP.
