Local Ingatestone business owner Julie Bell helping to raise awareness against domestic abuse and providing a J9 safe space.
Julie shares her personal Journey, facing illness, her continued work with Alpha Vesta who provide tools and resources for businesses to support those experiencing domestic abuse.
Julie’s passion lies in encouraging shopfront businesses to become safe spaces,
“It isn’t about fixing that person, it’s about listening and providing that space where they can make a call and directing them to the correct supportive services.”
“A person thats experiencing the abuse may see the sign and enquire, yet may not ask for help the first time, it can take many revisits until they decide they can ask for help.”
