Now that Sam Callahan has made it through boot camp on X Factor, This weekend we’ll see the final contestants revealed, as the judges’ houses stage of the competition airs.
Sam’s now off to San Tropez to perform for Louis Walsh. With all this going on I thought it would be a good time to hear again the interview I did with Sam back in April this year, when Sam came into the Phoenix FM studios here at The Brentwood Centre ahead of his appearance at The Essex Indoor Family Festival. You can see the original post on this and hear the original interview again here – Sam Callahan
Here at Phoenix we all wish talented Sam the best of luck on his X Factor journey.
A bag of ashes labelled ‘grandma’ has been found in an off-licence.
Charlie Nguyen, the owner of Charlie’s Liquor and Smoke Shop in Wichita, Kansas, found the unusual item during his shift.
The bag said ‘remains of Helen K. Dapron’ and gave her apparent dates of birth and death as October 1930 and June 2010.
Charlie told local television station KSN: ‘Just like that, people leave phone, keys, stuff like that all the time, but I’ve never seen anything like this.’
Mr Nguyen reviewed security tapes but couldn’t identify the customer so posted a note in his shop.
‘I tried to post it on the door, tried to return it to someone, but nobody came forward to claim this bag,’ he said.
When that did not bring up any leads, Mr Nguyen took to a classified ads website in an effort to track down the owner of the ashes.
‘My main thing is I need to return it to somebody. This is very important to someone. This is someone’s grandma,’ he added.
Thankfully someone claiming to be the owner of the bag came forward on Thursday.

A lorry carrying Branston pickle crashed and shed some of its load just a few miles from the town of Cheddar.
The truck was transporting the popular condiment when it got sandwiched in between the low branch of a tree on its way to a Somerset farm last Friday.
The accident happened at Bodden Lane, Shepton Mallet, which is a mere ten miles from Cheddar and the spiritual home of British cheese.
One local said: ‘It’s a shame about the lorry, but we were close to seeing the ultimate serving of Cheddar and pickle.’
No one was hurt in the incident so we are able to speculate that the driver was trying to create the world’s biggest ploughman’s lunch!
