Shrimpers Put Daggers To The Sword

With all of our local non league teams being given Boxing Day off, thanks to waterlogged pitches, the choices of festive football was severely limited.

Limited but not impossible to find. Our two local Football League sides, Dagenham & Redbridge and Southend United, faced each other in a Boxing Day lunchtime League Two clash at Victoria Road.

A close game was anticipated but it was anything but that – much to the delight of one set of supporters surrounding me at full time!
