Phoenix In The Foyer 3

On the first Saturday in November, Phoenix FM returned to the Brentwood Centre Foyer for our third showcase of some of Essex’s best new musical talent, this time with our good friends from Paulsgig.com in tow.

First up was rising local country-pop singer Lisa Wright. Lisa has recently made a number of local appearances, including sets at Paulsgig’s Tuesday night open mic sessions at The Swan on Brentwood High Street. Elsewhere, she is currently studying music at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, and will be taking part at the Open Mic UK Area Final in Middlesex on November 18th. She can be found on Facebook and YouTube.

Next up was Tom Eastwood from local duo Black Cherry Pop Tart, joined on vocals by local singer Joel Buxton, who treated us to an unusual selection of covers and originals, a sample of which can be seen below! They can be contacted on Facebook and also have a SoundCloud page.

Dead Foxxes then took to the stage and brought plenty of rock with them. Since forming in the summer of 2011 they’ve become regulars on the local gig circuit, and we’ll be hearing more of them in the coming months with new recordings and more dates planned. Find them on Facebook.

Headlining tonight were alternative rock foursome FallPath. Formed in March this year, the foursome have gained a local following through their varied live shows, veering everywhere between acoustic and full-on. Hear more from them on their Facebook page.

Many thanks to Victor Kurzweil for the photos.
