Playlist for 16 August 2012 (AOTW: Bloc Party – Four)

After the wonder of their debut Silent Alarm and the disappointment of the next two less-guitary albums, I was never really sure what to expect. I certainly didn’t expect it to be THAT GOOD – and it is. Bloc Party do guitars very well, not so good at electronica. Stick to guitars. The album is so good they got a rare FOUR songs tonight as my AOTW offering.

Tonight’s playlist:

Midway Still – Note To Self
Bloc Party – Octopus
Boxer Rebellion – Step Out Of The Car
Franz Ferdinand – Ulysses
High-Low – Forty
Garbage – Big Bright World
FutureAges – Under Orders
Bloc Party – Real Talk
Honeyblood – Biro (live)
Idiot The Band – Wingwinder
Dingus Khan – Made A List
Das Russians – Private Ambulance
Fashoda Crisis – Hunting The Poor For Sport
Bloc Party – Truth
High-Low – Spy Eye
Boy – Drive Darling
Vile Electrodes – Re-Emerge
Cud – Through The Roof
Kingmaker MMX – Armchair Anarchist
Sky Larkin – Matador
Sibyl Vane – Supersonic
Of Monsters And Men – Little Talks
Turnpike Glow – The Turn, The Pike and The Glow
Laetitia Sadier – Auscultation To The Nation
Alpaca Sports – She’ll Come Back For Indian Summer
Bloc Party – 3×3
Bleech – Adrenalin Junkie
Turtle Soup – Penrose Walks
