Tonight’s show was the second of two special shows in conjunction with Everything Indie Over 40 – a community for those people who love their old-school indie (and new old-school indie too).

We had requests from a number of the group’s members and I managed to squeeze them all into tonight’s two hour show.

As last week’s show concentrated on oldies we decided to make the second of the two shows a “newies” show – and introduced me to a number of great artists that I don’t usually play, so I think I was the main beneficiary from all the requests!

The Beths – Great No One

The Beths are a guitar pop band from Auckland, NZ. The lead singer is called Elizabeth Stokes but I don’t think there are any other Beths in the group! This single was released in Ovetober 2017.

Ill – Ill Song

Ill are a Manchester band who originally released this as a single on Bandcamp on Hallowe’en in 2015 – but it will also appear on their debut album We Are Ill which is out on 18 May 2018.

Buffalo Tom – See High The Hemlock Grows

The Spectors – Only You

Anthonie Tonnon – Two Free Hands

Parquet Courts – Almost Had To Start A Fight

The Magic Gang – Getting Along

The Magic Gang are a quartet originally from the New Forest but now based in Brighton. The Times here in the UK recently described them as Britain’s best new guitar band! This track is from their self-titled debut album which came out in March.

Soccer Mommy is the stage name of bedroom pop and indie rock musician Sophie Allison. This track appears on her debut album Clean which was released in March on Fat Possom records.

Beautify Junkyards – Prism

White Room – Stole the I.V.

A band from Busan, South Korea who I’ve been giving a bit of airtime to over the last few months. This track was released as a split 7″ single back in October with Japanese band Otoboke Beaver on the other side.

Desert Mountain Tribe – Wide Eyes

Slow Riot – Voyeur

Laurie Shaw – Breaking Branches

Laurie Shaw is a 23 year old Wirral songwriter and producer who now lives in Ireland. According to his Bandcamp bio, he has released around 75 albums to date, all of which are available on request! This track was released on Bandcamp back in January this year.

Editors – Hallelujah (So Low)
