As I turn on my computer…and write this post I remember what a fabulous time I had last night presenting your Top 20 Kate Bush tracks. Yes, as with all the Top 20 shows, you have been voting for your favourite tracks for several months now and you really came up with a diverse mix. By the time the voting closed yesterday the choices had changed so many times right up until the last minute.
Conveniently, it was this week that Kate released her album The Director’s Cut a remastering of tracks from The Red Shoes and Sensual World albums so there was plenty to talk about. It was really great to be able to devote a Top 20 show to an individual artist who’s career has been so diverse and we really got a sense of how she have grown through her music. We also looked at some of the influences not to mention the performances.
Thank you for voting for some amazing tracks. You have been voting from all corners of the globe which shows just how popular Kate’s work is. You have also been leaving some lovely comments and it obviously means a lot to you, but this comment from Tristan in Albany really sums it up for me: ‘Her music has changed my life. Each song is like a tiny piece of film’. I am going to leave you with a Moments of Pleasure as it seems to sum it up.
