This week on The Commentary Box we were joined in the studio by Caroline from the RGOA, the Romford retired greyhound owners’ association. Caroline discussed the work of the association in rehoming well over 100 ex-racing greyhounds each year.
Located in North Ockendon, the RGOA are always looking for volunteers, help with fostering dogs or anyone interested in rehoming a greyhound. The association makes sure a dog is well suited to each specific home environment, matching child-friendly or cat-friendly dogs when required.
Caroline spoke about the ability to sponsor a dog from £5 a month if homing a greyhound is not possible.
There are a number of fundraising events, including curry nights and sponsored walks, which Caroline spoke about. To listen again to the interview click here.
