Playlist – 13 January 2011 (AOTW Mogwai – Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will)

Two weeks of 2011 and two albums of the week. I’m so proud to have not abandoned it like my new year’s resolution to eat more healthily. Although I have stopped eating powdered gravy, so I suppose I did keep that one this time.

Album Of The Week no 2: Mogwai – Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will

Since falling for the charms of Stereolab almost a generation ago I’m a sucker for a bit of a driving Krautrock thing, and this album has its moments. The album’s divided loyal fans – but it’s grabbed my attention in a way that this band never did before, so it can’t be a bad thing, moving onwards and upwards and all that …!

If you want to find out more about Mogwai please go to Google.

Japan – Communist China

Teardrop Exlpodes – Sleeping Gas
Ian Brown – F.E.A.R.
Fixers – Iron Deer
Boxer Rebellion – Step Out Of The Car (acoustic)
