A week into 2011 and we were celebrating England not just retaining but winning the Ashes. Much of the news coverage was on the same subject.
As well as looking forward to the weekend’s FA Cup round 3 action with Dave Turner and Mike Jones , we had our usual look at the weekend’s local non-league fixtures and local action away from football. We had just got the news through that Roy Keane hed left Ipswich and at the time of the show Roy Hodgson was still officially the manager of Liverpool, proof that a week is a long time in sport as well as politics.
Dave Turner paid tribute to former British Boxing Champion Gary Mason, who passed away at the age of 48. Described by Lennox Lewis as the hardest hitter of his time.
Snooker has us turning to The Masters and we kept an eye on the Rugby updates.
Join Steve Robertson, Dave Turner and Dan Westram tomorrow for a look over the past week’s sport and ahead to the weekend’s action.
