Mince Pies, Turkey Sarnies, and Football – The Boxing Day Preview

As we all know, the sport at the weekend was a wipeout (well, almost – more later), but weather permitting, Boxing Day means a wonderful chance to get away from turkey sandwiches and the house for an afternoon of football.  Here’s where and when our sides are playing.

As mentioned earlier, the weekend sport was almost entirely wiped out, but not completely!  And, of course, we simply had to be there.  Saturday was spent the other side of the water, as Maidstone United stretched their unbeaten run in Ryman One South.

On Friday night, too, whilst Southend United stepped up their League Two promotion bid with a 3-0 win over Chesterfield, Joe and I settled for the Underdogs of Underhill.  Propping up League Two, Barnet, with Dutch superstar Edgar Davids in the line-up, took on Burton Albion.  Here was our take on a memorable evening.

So, never fear, if there’s a match, Phoenix FM will find it!

There will be a full summary of the Boxing Day results that evening, including a report from Dagenham & Redbridge, weather permitting of course.  Until then, thank you so much for tuning in and logging on, and all of you have yourselves a very Merry Christmas.
