A major loss

Now I’ll be totally honest with you, I’m always misplacing things.

My wife complains that we spend more time looking for my keys, glasses, phones and numerous other items, than doing anything useful, but I can barely imagine the range of emotions that must have gone through the mind of a woman who misplaced her diamond ring whilst staying a top class Parisian hotel.

And we are really talking class here – the Ritz no less, so no cheapskate establishment – and then to discover that your valuable diamond ring is missing.

And again we’re talking top value here – £637,000!

What do you do?

What can you do?

Surely staff at such a top flight hotel must be beyond suspicion!

Well even so this particular the guest, no doubt in a high state of panic, still filed a police complaint alleging that the ring had vanished from her room.

Mercifully thanks to meticulous searches by the hotel’s security, the ring finally turned up.

And where was it found?

 In a vacuum cleaner bag!

Goodness me – well that was a real lucky break.

The hotel revealed the news to their understandably relieved client.

No doubt the hotel themselves were also breathing a collective sigh of relief.

Nevertheless they have offered the guest 3 more nights free of charge at the hotel to make up for any inconvenience, and in all probability, a potential heart attack!

Assuming she takes up the offer of the bonus stay let’s hope she keeps takes better care not to drop the ring on the floor, or anywhere else.

Of course, being a Tuesday I was joined by Margaret Mills who whilst taking great care of her belongings, took us on the short journey to what used to be Warley Barracks.

Listen here to what Margaret had to say on this subject:-

I look forward to seeing you once again next week,
Scott
