Ian Adams, Chaplain at Ridley Hall Cambridge spoke about the significance of Boxing Day. Tim Lee came to the studio and told us about the Robin, flying around in church during the Margaretting village carol service recently. It was a lovely distraction to the 70 people in the congregation. He also talked about the Christmas services in Buttsbury and Mountnessing churches. Ian and Sue from the Brentwood Schools Christian Worker Trust reflected on how they celebrate Christmas. We had exclusive recordings of carols from The Red House, Rhythm and Blues Duo, Solomon Smith and Michelle Ward.
David and Alison listening in Mons, Belgium had the most exotic lunch made from leftovers. Pork, brussels and stuffing in a cranberry roll.
John and the family, listening in the Dordogne in France were the longest distance listeners to get in touch. Well over 600 miles.
We played Guess the date of the Christmas no 1. This proved surprisingly tricky. Chris in Guildford, Jon in Stock and Tim in the studio were surprised how hard it was to name the correct year. We had many one-year-out guesses.
Join me on Friday 29th when we will look back at some of the music featured in the show during the year. We also have an exclusive recording from former Brentwood resident Oliver Lincoln, a member of the Christian group ECHO.
