This afternoon Margaret decided to look at the time that Dr David Livingstone spent in Stamford Rivers, Near Ongar in Essex.

Unfortunately the good Doctor didn’t exactly cover himself in glory at his time in our county as it seems that having forgotten what he was supposed to be preaching about, he did “a runner” from the church.

Clearly, however, he eventually succeeded to become a very well known missionary.
