Harrison Dessoy is a 16 year old motorcyclist from Grays who competes, as an elite athlete, in the Honda British Talent Cup which is a Motorcycle racing support class run at British Superbikes meetings.

During this week’s show, Harrison visited the studio with his dad Rob and it was a pleasure to meet them and chat with them both on air, as I learned about Harrison’s achievements and experiences in the sport so far and what he hopes to do going forward.

The interview can be heard on the above link, and starts around 35 minutes in.

Saturday’s sport saw the England Cricket team continue to struggle in the second test against a New Zealand side who scored a total of 553 runs after being given the chance to bat first, 190 of them coming from Daryl Mitchell who put in an outstanding performance.

It was England’s who were batting by close of play, but they were left to go into day three still 463 behind and with a mountain to climb.

Saturday’s local Cricket saw Shenfield’s struggling start to the season in the Essex League 1st XI Premier Division continue.

They were comfortably beaten by visitors Wanstead & Snaresbrook, who triumphed by 261 runs and went top of the table at the expense of Colchester & East Essex, who were held to a home draw by Chelmsford.

In Rugby Union, the play-off final of the English Premiership will be contested by Saracens, who scored a semi-final victory over existing holders Harlequins with a 34-17 victory and Leicester Tigers, who beat Northampton Saints 27-14 in the afternoon’s other semi-final.
