Curveballs 8th September 2021 (with Nick Cody and Michael Crisp on the phone)

Another two great guests on the show tonight. First up tonight I got some fitness advice from local man of muscle Michael Crisp, about his journey from being out of shape a year ago to competing in his first bodybuilding show last month, where he qualified for the Arnold Pro – the UK’s biggest bodybuilding show – on October 1st. We chatted all about some common misconceptions of bodybuilding (it’s definitely not all fish and rice cakes!), his tips for getting in shape, and the his most feared piece of gym equipment! Keep up with Michael’s progress on his Instagram page, www.instagram.com/crisp_fitness_.

October 1st is also the release date for the new single from Nick Cody & the Heartache, Slowtime, and tonight Nick joined us again to discuss that as well as what the band have been up to since July when we last chatted. As we found out, the past year has certainly had its fair share of creativity, and we also chatted about the pub sign that inspired Slowtime’s chorus, how some of his musical influences are lost on his bandmates, and his setting up of Green Eyed Records – a new platform to help artists collaborate with others and find new audiences – all without sacrificing their creativity. You can find out more at www.greeneyedrecords.co.uk and keep up with Nick’s own news at www.nickcody.co.uk.
