Students reveal talents on regular feature on Georgia’s Drive Time

Our Drive Time presenter Georgia Frampton has been featuring some amazing and talented young people in her radio show in recent weeks.

We’ve now created a regular feature – New Talent Tuesday – to highlight interests and hobbies that people could take up, particularly during lockdown, and we’ve had lots of interest from local schools.

Recent contributions from pupils include Jack, Ian, Alexandra and Jess from Brentwood School who came in with Mr Gamester to talk about a variety of sports that they love. Fencing gets a good mention – I remember from my own time at Brentwood School how dedicated they are to the sport.

Annabelle, a student at King Edward VI Grammar School in Chelmsford, spoke about the National Youth Theatre and how writing plays not only provided her with entertainment and purpose during lockdown, but how it helped her explore and understand her emotions and relationships better in such a confusing and difficult time.

And Benji is another local student who has also been discovering some interesting things about local history including local links to Suffragettes and the speed of sound.

All of the interviews can be heard again at www.phoenixfm.com. And teachers and pupils can contact Georgia via the station’s website too.
