We’re always striving to keep the music output on Phoenix FM as diverse as possible.
I never really understood why other radio stations insist on sticking to one genre of music – unless they are so specialised that they dig in very deeply with lots of musical news and interviews.
A lot of stations in the UK seem to assume that people only like listening to a very limited range of musical styles, which is really not the case.
Personally I enjoy all the meats in our cultural stew, and listened to a lot of classical music when I was a teenager, although I’m out of touch with it these days.
So it’s great that we’ve now got a classical music show back, Phoenix Classics, back on Phoenix FM.
The show is presented by Steve Robertson, who is one of our longest-serving presenters, having joined us very soon after we started broadcasting on FM full time in 2007.
The show concentrates on the classic composers – so fans of Bach, Debussy, Beethoven, Liszt and Schubert won’t be disappointed.
You can hear Classic Phoenix every Sunday at 8pm.
