Due to other local sides’ FA Trophy involvement only two Essex clubs were involved in National League action on Saturday, both in the National League South.
Billericay Town travelled to Slough Town and picked up a point in a 2-2 draw.
The hosts grabbed a 14th minute lead through Matt Lench before Ody Alfa levelled the scores with four minutes to go until half-time.
Jamie O’Hara’s men fell behind once again with 73 minutes on the clock, George Wells slotting home Slough’s second.
But in the second minute of injury time Ricay’s Ronnie Henry rescued a point for his side when he netted to make the final score 2-2.
Billericay are in 16th place whilst the other local NLS side in action – Braintree Town – slipped to 18th spot as their poor run of results continued.
The Iron suffered a fifth successive reversal as they were beaten 1-0 at Cressing Road by a Tonbridge Angels side who hadn’t won away from home all season, and moved above their hosts in the table due to an own-goal from on-loan Norwich City goalkeeper Billy Johnson just after the start of the second half.
