Friday 6th of December 2019 including a feature on ‘Ocean’ by Lady Antebellum, my record of the year.

I had to wait to November for the release of my choice of album for 2019.

We had four tracks from Ocean by Lady Antebellum. This new album on a new record label returns them to their best. With career sales up to August 2013 of more than 12.5 million digital singles and over 10 million albums just in the USA, this new album we delight fans and surely bring their music to new listeners.

We also had three birthdays on this day, with an increased number of listeners joining in to work out which year they would have been born on this date. Whilst no-one got any of them exact, all of the guesses were close.
Tonight’s playlist
Edwin Starr – H.A.P.P.Y. Radio
Van Morrison – Every time I see a river
Harry Belafonte – Mary’s boy child – This track from 1957 was requested by Phyl. It was the first single to sell over 1 million copies in the UK. Patrick remembered that his parents had a copy on a 78 RPM record and he used to listen to it on his parent’s gramophone.
Lady Antebellum – What if I never get over you?
Kinks – Dead end street – if you had never seen it, check out the rather strange video they made to go with the song. Rather macabre!
Today’s birthday’s
Mike Smith from the Dave Clark Five. Born this day in 1943 but passed away in 2008. We heard Bits and pieces & Everybody knows. Both singles less than two minutes long!

Rick Bucker from the Jam, born this day in 1955. We heard ‘That’s entertainment’.
Peter Buck from R.E.M. born this day in 1956. We heard ‘All the way to Reno’
Patrick requested the song ‘Only you’. WE heard the original by Yazoo and also the Flying Pickets version, the 1983 Christmas no 1.
Lady Antebellum – Be patient with my love
Carrie Underwood – Temporary home
Lauren Diagle – You say
Chart this week from 2006
No 1 Take that – Patience

No 4 Nelly Furtado – All good things come to an end
No 19 Amy Winehouse – Rehab
David Pickthall Big Band – Cute
Sophie Griffiths – Holding on to you (acoustic)
Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Linda Ronstadt – After the Goldrush
Beach Boys – I just wasn’t made for these times
Lady Antebellum – Pictures
Bastille – Can’t fight this feeling.

Join me next week for another two hours of God music and chat. The following week, 20th, Tom Page will be live in the studio singing carols.
And I look forward to your company also on Boxing day with a live show 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
