Friday Night Extra 15.11.19 with Jude Ball and Ian, Holly & Alison from BSCWT.

11 year old Jude Ball from Maldon joined us this evening. He talked about taking part in the www.chesshomeless/sleepout next week the 22nd at Chelmsford Cathedral. This is a sponsored event and Jude is one on 75 people who will be sleeping outside. Jude did this last year also and told us how many layers of clothes he wore to try and keep warm, and still he was cold. He told us that he felt no-one should have to sleep rough as a homeless person which he thought was a very scary thing to have to do.

Jude can be sponsored through the CHESS website. It is still not too late to sign up to take part this year.

I was also joined by Alison Carmichael, Holly Coleman and Ian Kemble from the Brentwood Schools Christian Worker Trust, www.bscwt.org. They have been preparing special activities for work in schools to help them prepare for Christmas. These included sessions called ‘Christmas unpacked’ and also prayer spaces. The trust also regularly undertakes assemblies and runs clubs in schools. Working as chaplains in schools has become an increasingly important part of their work.

Tonight’s playlist
Rick Astley – Beautiful life
Phil Collins – Another day in paradise
Ralph McTell – Streets of London
Hot Chocolate – Everyone’s a winner – requested by Patrick
Bob Marley – Sun is shinning
