Baby Loss Awareness Week is a campaign started by a group of bereaved parents in 2003. It is now supported by more than 60 charities and groups across the UK.
During the week, public buildings and landmarks light up in pink and blue to show their support. Last year many British landmarks too part, including the Blackpool Tower, Portsmouth’s Spinnaker Tower, the Millennium Bridge at Gateshead and many more.
It takes place from 9 October and ends on 15 October, a day internationally recognised as “Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day” when thousands of families across the world join together lighting candles at 7pm (local time) to remember their babies, forming a global Wave of Light.
