How a bird saved a man from a speeding ticket

Yesterday we heard about the motorist who fell foul of his SATNAV and today we heard another motoring tale.

Yes, it seems that a driver in Germany just escaped a speeding fine because his face was obscured by a pigeon when the camera took the shot.

Officers said that the pigeon should actually be fined for both speeding and obstructing justice meanwhile someone suggested that the driver might have been vegan and that their animal friends had come to their rescue in the nick of time.

Meanwhile someone wondered whether the police might be able to identify the bird and take it to court for obstruction.

I don’t think they’d be so lucky here as once they’ve got your number plate, it’s almost all over bar the shouting.

In the second hour today, Margaret Mills popped in to tell us a little about the history of the former army barracks at Warley.

If you missed it, listen again here: –

I’m away next week, but I’ll see you again in 2 weeks,
