A Week on Drive by Charlie

Here’s what happened on the Drive show this week: Business Awards chatter, sun tans, Trump’s handshake, a meal deal problem, a late night kitty scrap plus movies and a song by a Manics fan…

As part of Phoenix FM’s support of the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce 2018 Brentwood Business Awards, I spoke with Steve Lee, Head of Skills and Apprenticeships at Havering College on Tuesday’s show who are sponsoring the Employer of the Year award which looks at attracting, training and retaining staff as well as creating a positive, inclusive working environment.  You can listen to that again here…

Wednesday’s guest was Ruta Gabalis from AeroBlue which is sponsoring the “Growing Business of the Year” award which is for businesses that can show a growth in turnover and profit and either employees, products or services, over the last 3 years.  You can listen to that again here…

The Best/Worst:

Getting a sun tan….

No sport – just balls…

Trump’s Handshake – Who’d want to be on the receiving end of that?

No coal power – a new record…

The highlights of getting a meal-deal – but there’s a problem!

Facebook ads and buying clothes

The woe of cat’s having a late-night scrap…

Improving the Orient Hour promo…

The return of Chucklevision (to me, to you)

Music from Twitter
Last night I stumbled-upon a Tweet that featured a composition by Manic Street Preachers fan, George McKenna.  Here’s the link to the Manics’ Sound-on-Sound article I mentioned, too.

Movies with Mark
Plus, we had the usual movie review on Friday’s show with Mark Searby…
