The latest from the Lakeside Speedway Press Office…
LAKESIDE have been dealt a huge blow ahead of tonight’s home fixture with Birmingham (8pm).
In-form ace Zach Wajtknecht damaged his spleen after falling off whilst on Premiership duty with Swindon on Thursday and is set to miss the rest of the season.
He spent the night in hospital where observations took place. He is now facing treatment over the next few days before a decision is made whether or not he will require an operation.
Everyone at The Vortex Lakeside Hammers would like to send our best wishes to Zach and wish him a speedy recovery.
Rider replacement will operate for Wajtknecht in tonight’s Travel Plus National League fixture against the reigning Champions.
The action gets underway at 8pm with six junior races taking place from 7.30 approx.
