BATTLEFIELD ESSEX is the title of a new book by Andrew Summers and John Debenham and John joined me today to tell me all about this new publication.
Actually the title is a bit of a misnomer as it not only includes real battles but covers a multitude of other issues from riots to the seaside invasions by the mods and rockers back in the 1960’s.
Due to the limited time available we were able to barely scratch the surface in our chat today, but if you missed it, click on the link below to hear what John told me: –
And if you’d like to get hold of a copy (which I can thoroughly recommend) the book is available from all good bookshops or direct from the publisher at https://www.essex100.com for just £8:99.
In the second hour of today’s show, we heard just how important it can be to carefully read the terms and conditions, before signing up to free wi-fi, or to anything else for that matter.
It seems that thousands of people in Manchester have inadvertently signed up to do 1000 hours of community service – cleaning toilets at festivals, scraping chewing gum off the streets and ‘manually relieving sewer blockages, after agreeing to these terms when they signed up to free wi-fi in places like Pizza Express.
Well that’ll learn them!
See you again tomorrow,
Scott
