Hi listeners,

What a fantastic six months it has been presenting the Saturday Breakfast Show since joining Phoenix in the summer. I’ve enjoyed every minute of it, having had the pleasure of playing some great music for our listeners in Brentwood, Billericay, in the UK and across the world.

Each week I always look forward to featuring some of the strangest, funniest and even interesting news stories, as well as keeping you up-to-date with news from the music industry about your favourite artists and bands.

So I’m off now on my hols and will be back on Saturday 9 January 2016, but until then you can still tune in and join one of our DJ’s, who will be presenting a fantastic Saturday Breakfast Show to help kick start your weekend each week.

Here is what happened on Saturday Breakfast this week:

The festive throwback Saturday song was Coldplay ‘s 2010 single Christmas Lights. It got to number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and peaked at number 12 on the Hot Digital Songs chart. See the video here

On This Day In Music History was dedicated to Ike and Tina Turner for their contribution to the music industry. See the video here

Last but not least, my article of the week all the way from Santa Monica is Sweaty Betty who provides an interesting spin on how to survive Christmas   – I couldn’t keep a straight face while reading this out on air! Read the article here
