Gloria George & Ashley Mayers & interview: London Transport’s Caribbean Workforce Exhibition (Ep 11)

After attending the London Transport’s Caribbean Workforce Exhibition Antonia Jones invited special guests Gloria George, Chair of  Transport for London (TFL) Raising Awareness of Culture & Ethnicity (RACE) Staff Network Group at TFL and her colleague Ashley Mayers, who is a Customer Experience Manager to AJ’s Soundbooth.

The pair talked with Antonia about their involvement in the exhibition. Ashley had three generations of his family that have worked for London bus services while Gloria’s mother worked in the canteen at a local bus garage in the 70s, and from this they both had some amazing stories to speak about. We also reflected on the importance of TFL showcasing the exhibition including what this means for the future along with exploring how many generations of Caribbean workers helped shaped London and its transport.
