Latitude Festival 2015: Stornoway

We’ve been playing Stornoway quite a bit on Phoenix FM over the last few years – not least recent singles Get Low and Man On Wire which both made appearances on the station’s A List, so we were delighted to chat to lead singer Brian Briggs and keyboard player Jon Ouin down by the lake.

Stornoway with Paul

We chatted about their recently-released album Bonxie which of course is heavily influenced by Brian’s love of birds – it’s a little known fact that he has a degree in zoology and a PhD in ornithology, and this isn’t hidden in both the songwriting and recording process. We also talked about the gigs they recently played at RSPB centres, the Other Voices stage here at the festival, future festival appearances and the resumption of writing and recording duties!

New album Bonxie and current single Man On Wire are both out now. You can find out more about the band at their official website, Facebook and Twitter pages.
