We heard today about the Canadian pensioner served with a penalty notice due to the sound of her rocking chair disturbing the peace. Yes, believe it or not neighbours of 91-year old YVETTE VACHON called police to complain of the noise being made by the chair which until the intervention of a lawyer resulted in her being fined the equivalent of £100. Perhaps if she cranks up the volume on her hi-fi it will drown out the noise made by the chair!
