With St George’s Day coming up on Thursday, we heard about the English City Council that tried to ban a curry stall being set up as part of their St George’s Day celebrations, on the grounds that it was not English enough. Unfortunately it subsequently came to light that much of English culture, especially in the culinary area, was adopted from the days of the Raj and that in any case St George himself was actually of Palestinian heritage!
Margaret Mills also dropped by to reveal the background to many ghostly goings on at Prittlewell Priory. Listen again to what she told me here:-
Right until we meet again, have a good week and enjoy your St George’s Day celebrations by eating and drinking whatever takes your fancy,
