The Brentwood Memory Walk – Get Involved.

Joined in the studio by The Alzheimers Society’s, Rosemary Spence (Dementia Support Manager for Brentwood) and Megan Bailey (Community Fund Raiser) along with Bennetts Funerals, Jane Bennett (Managing Director) and Claire Hammond (Funeral Administrator).

COME AND JOIN IN ON THE MEMORY WALK Sunday 28th September 2014 Arrive for 10am Start Time 11am.

Where to meet? The Pavilion near Thorndon South car park CM13 3LW

Length of walk:1 mile; 9 km

Description A surfaced track connects the wooded and heathland areas of Thorndon North with the more open parkland of Thorndon South. The path runs through the Old Park, an area owned and managed as a traditional wood pasture by the Woodlands Trust. The park contains rare areas of heathland which are being carefully managed and restored in the most traditional and effective manner- by a hard working herd of sheep and goats! It’s also a great place to spot a wide variety of butterflies, including some rarities, and the rangers run an extensive list of events throughout the year for all ages and interests.

The walk will include some rough surfaces which may be slippery in wet weather. Please ensure you wear appropriate footwear.

Please note there is a parking charge of £3 for the day at the Thorndon South car park.

How to get there:Driving?

From Brentwood town centre continue along the A128. Pass the turning for Thorndon North (The Avenue) on your right. Continue along the A128 and turn right into the Thorndon South car park. Approaching from the West on the A127, take the exit for the Halfway House Roundabout. Take the first exit into the A128 and shortly after turn left into Thorndon South.

Bus?

The No. 151 runs from Brentwood town centre to Halfway House roundabout.

Train?

Brentwood Station is about 2 miles from the park.
