Apply for ActiveBrentwood’s sports funding scheme

There’s just under two weeks left to apply for the latest round of a small grants scheme to help sport projects or development in the borough.

The Funding the Community scheme from ActiveBrentwood, is open to people who live in the borough and need some financial help towards their chosen sport, physical activity or community project. This can include player pathway development, playing sport to enhance the quality of an individual’s life or to provide more opportunities in the community including volunteering.

ActiveBrentwood, which is co-ordinated by Brentwood Borough Council, is a multi-partnership organisation bringing together those working in sport and health within the local community and runs two rounds of funding a year.

Small grants of up to £500 for individuals are encouraged, clubs and organisations can apply for amounts up to £1000.

Brentwood Borough Council’s spokesperson for localism, Councillor Will Russell, said: “The closing date for this round is Tuesday April 15th, and I would encourage residents to get their requests in soon to ensure they can be considered. The scheme has previously helped to support many people in Brentwood, and through the financial help they may need, they can develop as athletes, coaches or volunteers.”

The Criteria:
– Must live, or if a club/ organisation, be based in the borough of Brentwood.
– Must help with the development of sport, or health and well-being or to enhance volunteering and community opportunities with a health/sport focus.
– Demonstrate a need for the funding
