An Australian family sets the Guinness World Record for having the most Christmas lights on their home, a staggering 502,165
The Richards family from Canberra, Australia have beaten the Guinness World Record for Christmas lights on a residential property with more than half a million bulbs.
Their suburban home illuminated by lights on more than 31 miles of wire will be open to the public from the weekend to raise money for charity.
A local power company will donate the estimated 2,500 Australian dollars (£1,450) in electricity that would keep them lit for the next month.
The family first entered the famous record book in 2001 with 331,038 multicoloured lights. But they were trumped last year by a family in LaGrangeville, New York, who decorated their home with 346,283 lights.
In my Phoenix FM highlight of the week we heard a track recorded live in the studio by Elles Bailey last Sunday on The Sunday Lunch Show with Tony Smith who along with Rob Jelly BSc will be very busy on the main stage tomorrow. I’ll be in Crown Street with the fabulous Bryan Powis. Come and say Hi.
It’s Gonna be FUN!
