Here we are with another MAXIMUM MUSIC MONDAY. Well we might have enjoyed a fabulous crop of music but we just had to look at a couple of stories which to my mind would have made for much greater enjoyment from our newspapers than most of the bad news they revel in reporting.
First off came news of a children’s hospital in Moldova, reportedly forced to use construction tools as surgical instruments. Seemingly surgeons have used drills, hammers and chisels to carry out bone cutting procedures. Maybe that was the fate that befell LONG JOHN SILVER, but not the fate of the hero, or perhaps I should say heroinne, of our second story.
This concerned a woman high on booze and drugs who stole a ferry boat in Devon. As the ferry careered into other craft, the woman shouted at police and emergency crews that she was a pirate and told them she was outside their jurisdiction. Afterwards she optimistically told police that had she not been caught, she would have made it to St Tropez!
Right see you tomorrow for more of the same plus Frances Clamp with the history of Brentwood’s PRIORY HOUSE.
All the best,
Scott
