On the night England scored 8 against San Marino I was joined in the studio by Rev. Ian Jorsyz who is the Church of England Rural Dean of Brentwood and also the Vicar of South Weald. It was good to hear how Ian sees his role as helping and encouraging congregations to chat to each other about future developments. We also talked about Beckett Keys School where Ian is Chair of Governors. We felt encoraged by the appointment of Justin Welby as the Arch Bishop of Canterbury but also felt he had a very challenging next few years. Requests tonight were for Take That, Alison Krauss, Ralph McTell, Smokey Robinson and Marc Antoinne. With the weather horrible and the forecast worse, we had tracks that made us think of warm sunshine. These included tracks by Chris Rea and Toto. With Buzz Aldrin selling his note sheets from the moon landings we had REM Man on the Moon. We also heard about a court case in Alabama where the defendant was a 56 year old called Bartram Simpson and the judge was Mr. Burns. That is almost as unlikely as a new Pope and new Arch Bishop beginning their ministries in the same week. Join me on Good Friday next week when I am joined by pupils from Ingatestone and Fryerning Church of England Junior School and Tim Lee from Brentwood Churches Together. And remember, keep it Phoenix.
