Tonight I was the alternative to the Olympic opening ceremony. It was good to see Ed this evening, sitting on the 6-8 show.

We had requests tonight from Jackie for Steeleye Span, Phyl & Derek for Fairport Convention and Michael for Katy Melua.

For all these artists we had album tracks. It was a quiet night on the e-mails and in the chat room. I guess something else was happening! Good to hear from first time listener Chris Listening on 98FM. We had tracks from Lady Antebellum, Hall & Oates, Coldplay, Adele, Beatles, Beachboys, Counting Crows, Eagles, Queen, Frank Sinatra, Otis Redding, Marc Antionne and many others. News Stories included the Utah goatman who dresses up in goatskins practicing to get close to goats to shoot them with a blow dart in the hunting season. We also heard about a plan in a Ukrainian city to remove the local pigeons by getting them drunk on bread soaked in wine and then release them away from the city. My guess is they will fly back because they think they have discovered a good thing. Join me again next week, and why not leave a request on the blog.
