After a wild and heavy thunderstorm, the sun shone for us this evening. Tim spoke to us on the phone about getting involved with ringing bells next Friday at 8. 12 in the morning to mark the coming of the Olympics. Among our stories was that about one of the carriersof the torch who had a tatoo to mark taking part, only to find that the tatoo artist splelt Olympic as Oylimpic! He came from Georgia USA and I guess if you say the word with a Southern accent, that is what you get! We also heard how a recently discovered letter showed the Nazis planned to blow up Winston Churchchill with explosive chocolate bars. You can make up your own punch line. We remembered the passing of John Lord with a Deep Purple tribute, a quiet and melodic track called Soldier of Fortune from the album Stormbringer. Requests tonight for Rene, Michael and Phyl.
