This evening I was joined in the studio by David McAdams, Chairman of the Epping Ongar Railway Volunteers Society.

If you want to be involved e-mail volunteering@eorailway.co.uk

He talked about the history of the railway and the amazing way that it has been brought back into use. He told us that over 100 volunteers are involved, but they are looking for many more. Whatever skill you could bring, they could use. More information is available on www.eorailway.co.uk

Requests tonight included Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond for Penny, Apache by the Shadows for Phyl, anything by Rumer for Jenny and Lady  Antebellum for Michael. We also had

Spinning Wheel – Blood, Sweat and Tears

Song for Mama – Soweto String Quartet

Call be Al – Paul Simon

Our House – Madness

Paper Aeroplane – Alison Krauss

West End Girls – Pet Shop Boys

as well as tracks by Louis Armstrong, Adele, Coldplay, Amy Winehouse and many more.

In the news items we heard about a restaurant in China which is run by robots, and international egg throwing competition, the return of a lost medal to an ex Man U player that had been lost for thirty years and the lottery mulch-millionaires buying their own council house in Corby. Join me next week and don’t forget to leave your request below.
